Three online e-cigg sellers nabbedThe Health Sciences Authority (HSA) have seized 490 sets of e-cigarettes worth about $25,000 and captured three peddlers so far, two male and one female.  The three, who had bought the products separately from overseas suppliers located in China, Italy and the United States, and offered them for sale via locally-based websites, have been convicted in court and fined a total of $95,500. Their cases had been detected using HSAs online surveillance and enforcement activities, which target the prohibited sale of e-cigarettes in Singapore. Since 2011, HSA has prosecuted eight people selling e-cigarettes. HSA reminds the public that section 16 of the Tobacco (Control of Advertisement and Sales) Act prohibits the import, distribution, sale or offer for sale of any article that is designed to resemble a tobacco product, including vaporisers such as e-cigarettes, e-pipes and e-cigars.
