The Crown Prince of Johor has explained why Singapore footballer Baihakki Khaizan has been removed from Johor Darul Takzim's lineup this Malaysian Super League season.
His statement comes after countless fans have expressed their bewilderment at the news, which was broken by Baihakki himself on his Instagram page.
The Crown Prince and president of Johor Darul Takzim had taken to Facebook on April 20 to try and clear the air on several matters, including that of Baihakki's removal from the first team.
He clarified in both Bahasa and English, "the decision to change Baihakki Khaizan and Pablo Aimar was actually a decision made by (coach) Cesar and I while he was still Head Coach of JDT"."Baihakki is a phenomenal defender however, for us to compete with foreign strikers from opposing teams, we need a defender with vast international experience. Cesar suggested that we needed a defender with greater physical ability," he continued.
