Budget carrier Tigerair will begin a thrice weekly service between Singapore and the Chinese city of Xi'an on May 15.
With a history that goes back over 3,000 years, Xi'an was one of China's Four Great Ancient Capitals, functioning as the political centre of the Zhou, Qin, Han, Sui and Tang dynasties. It's where you'll find the famed Terracotta Army of Emperor Qin Shi Huang, the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda and the Drum Tower of Xi'an. Today, Xi'an is one of China's key emerging cities.
To mark the launch of the new route, which Tigerair is the only airline to operate, all-in, one-way promotional fares are available from $88 (for bookings made by April 30).
The flights leave Singapore on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 6:05pm Singapore time and depart from Xi'an on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:45am. There is no time difference between Singapore and Xi'an. The journey will take about five hours and thirty minutes.
