The Singapore SEA Games Organising Committee (Singsoc) is offering free entry to about half of next year's SEA Games events.
Sports like bowling and shooting, held in smaller venues, are likely to be free, while more popular events like football and swimming will be ticketed, in a move to get Singaporeans more involved in the biennial regional sporting event.
Ticket prices will also be kept affordable, ranging from below $10 to below $30. Registration of expression of interest for tickets will commence in June, with ticket sales expected to start in November.
The 2015 SEA games will see some 7,000 athletes from the region competing in 36 sports, most of which will be held in three clusters — Expo, Kallang and Marina.
