Taiwanese rockers Mayday will take to the Padang Stage to headline the post-practice entertainment on the first day of the 2014 Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix.
They are the first high-profile act to be confirmed for this year's race, continuing the trend of Asian performers taking centre stage at the event. Previous Asian headliners include Taiwanese singer Jay Chou and K-pop superstars BIGBANG.
Formed in 1997, Mayday has sold over a million albums and has picked up the Golden Melody Award for best band four times. The band is fronted by vocalist Ashin and lead guitarist Monster, with Stone, Masa and Guan You completing the lineup. Fans can look forward to hearing hits like “Armour”, “Angel” and “Suddenly Missing You”, which all received Top 10 Songs of the Year accolades at the HITO Radio Music Awards.
Entry to the area is included in Friday Zone 4 Walkabout tickets ($68) or any three-day event ticket (from $228). The 2014 Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix takes place from Sep. 19 to 21 at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. Tickets are available through SISTIC.
