A 40-year-old man who commited an obscene act on SMRT bus service 106 has been arrested.
Police expedited the arrest with the assistance of the suspect's 17-year-old female victim and the bus captain. Despite the shock from the man's lewd act, the female victim managed to keep her calm and inform the bus captain, who detained the man.
Alerted by an SMRT staff stationed at Bukit Batok Bus Interchange where the bus was headed, police deployed officers from Jurong Police Division and the Public Transport Security Command to nab the culprit.
If convicted, the man faces a jail term of up to 3 months and/or a fine.
