Police alert: Changi Airport contest for Japan tickets a fakeFolks, we hope you're not holding your breath for those return air tickets to Japan from Changi Airport. That contest is a fake. Victims have reportedly been asked for their personal information such as passport details and mailing address on the pretext that it was required in order for them to claim the prize, after which, correspondence ceases. For authentic contests organised by Changi Airport Group (CAG), winners are notified by telephone and email, followed by an official letter sent to them for their acknowledgement. Changi Airport's Customer Hotline at 6595-6868 can also be reached for verification when in doubt. In light of such cases, the police advises not to divulge personal particulars to unknown individuals and lodge a police report via the Electronic Police Centre (ePC) should you receive such calls.
