The Health Sciences Authority (HSA) has warned consumers to immediately stop consuming the product 'Via.X For Men'.
Sold over the counter at Nature's Farm outlets and selected medical halls around the island, 'Via.X For Men' contains two undeclared potent ingredients, sildenafil and propoxyphenyl sildenafil, which can cause decreased or loss of vision and hearing, low blood pressure and other cardiovascular events such as stroke and heart attack.
Sildenafil is used to treat erectile dysfunction and should only be consumed under a doctor's prescription and close medical supervision, while propoxyphenyl sildenafil is a chemically related compund of sildenafil unnaproved for use as a medical ingredient.
While there have been no reports of adverse reactions from consumers to date, the HSA urges those who are feeling unwell or concerned about their health to seek medical attention.
