The new fancy name in town is JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach. Towering above the arts and culture district of Singapore, the 634-room luxury hotel is made up of both historic and newly-constructed buildings, with its interiors done by French designer Philippe Starck.
Stroll around the hotel and you'll discover over 30 works by artists from across the globe, including Lee Lee Nam of South Korea's 7m-tall video wall installation. Using LED monitors as a canvas, the wall breathes life into art through movement and technology. Other pieces include 'Donna a Cavallo', a lobby sculpture by Fernando Botero, and 'Gorilla', a reclaimed scrap metal sculpture by Turner Prize winner Iain Nutting.
