Musicity Singapore 2014 comes to the hip enclave of Tiong Bahru from April 25 — May 10.
In the first ever Musicity event to feature spoken word poetry alongside music, eight artistes have been allocated 12 locations in the estate for them to write about — the musicians will produce one track each, while the poets get two each.
The tracks will be performed at six venues during the event and will be available for streaming via the Musicity app from April 25.
The musicians include Seyra, The Sam Willows, MONSTER CAT and Marcel Lee Pereira while the poets are Marc Nair, Jennifer Champion, Nabilah Husna and Gideon + Allee.
Tiong Bahru was an ideal choice for the event because of its picturesque setting where the old seamlessly blends with the new, which has turned it into a meeting point for hipsters and the creative types.
Musicity is a location-based, curated music platform where artistes are commissioned to compose original music in response to an aspect of the city that inspires them.
