A man was found guilty on five charges after a spitting incident (watch video below) at the Woodlands bus interchange in October last year.
48-year-old Juraimi Kamaludin, also know as the 'Woodlands Spitter', was convicted of spitting six times in 34-year-old Lee Kuan Eng's face. He also spat at 41-year-old Teoh Lay Peng and pushed her out of a bus.
In defence, Juraimi, who represented himself, claimed that he had been insulted by the women. District Judge Lim Keng Yeow, however, ruled that Juraimi had overreacted to what was an initial misunderstanding.
Juraimi was also found guilty of public nuisance for behaving aggressively during the incident.
His sentencing will be carried out on March 21.
