The young Canadian who committed a rare bank robbery in Singapore before hopping on a quick flight to Bangkok is still reportedly being held in the kingdom, as the efforts to repatriate him to Singapore have not progressed.
On July 7, David James Roach, 27, allegedly robbed the Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore's Holland Village and walked away with $30,000 cash by simply handing a teller a note that demanded money.
He then flew to Bangkok on the same day and was arrested at Boxpackers Hostel in Ratchathewi, just three days later.
