In a sweet, heart-warming gesture, Chinese restaurant PUTIEN is dedicating its Mid-Autumn treats to its longest-serving employee, Madam Leng Ah Eng. The traditional 'Madam Leng Handmade Mooncakes' were created by the lady herself, originally as gifts for her colleagues and regular patrons.

Low in sugar and devoid of preservatives and additives, the delicate creations are available in limited supply due to the intricate and complex nature of their handcrafting process. Expect only 200 boxes per outlet — even the Kitchener Road one, which recently nabbed a coveted Michelin star in Singapore's first guide.

Made from layers of dough rolled together over the filling, then deep fried to crispy perfection, the mooncakes come in four main flavours: Purple sweet potato or yam, with or without a single yolk.
