
Peter Quek has been harassing GrabCar drivers for nine months, since last November. The man, who's in his 30s or 40s, would employ sneaky methods like making bookings for cabs in the middle of the night or giving fake pick-up locations and destinations. Once, he even requested for a ride to Pulau Ubin.
And after the cab driver arrived in the vicinity of his bogus pick-up point, he would offer flimsy excuses to avoid boarding the vehicle and claim that he had already flagged down another taxi. This would force the drivers to call off the booking — a detrimental move that would adversely affect their cancellation rate and decrease their incentive payment from Grab.
