Going by the name "Lucifer", this devilish man preyed on a 12-year-old schoolgirl he met through a mobile phone messaging app, engaging her in sexually-charged conversations.
Not long after, 40-year-old Lee Seow Peng drove her to a public car park at Chinese Garden and had sexual intercourse with her in the back seat of his vehicle.
The former crane operator has since been sentenced to 12 years in jail and nine strokes of the cane for statutory rape with consent, sexual grooming of a minor under 16 and the procurement of an indecent act from a child.
The New Paper reports that it was a sentence heavier than what the prosecution had called for — and Lee intends to appeal the sentence.
