
With the ever-changing retail scene in Singapore, it seems no one is safe. Sure, there've been expansions and new labels popping up — Japanese chain Uniqlo, for one, will not stop till it has a store on every corner — but there've also been plenty of shops closing their shutters for good. Recently, the Dubai-based conglomerate Al-Futtaim Group, who owns names like Robinsons, Marks & Spencer, Ted Baker, Mango and Bershka, announced the impending closure of ten of unnamed stores here. Even beloved local vintage shop Granny's Day Out is bowing out after 11 years of operations.
