Our favorite social network for professionals LinkedIn just expanded closer to home as the company unveiled its new data centre in Singapore in its first branch outside the United States.
LinkedIn's new $80 million centre occupies a 2,183 sq m lot in Jurong, and processes all of their online traffic in the Asia Pacific region, which should improve the speed and reliability of their services for over 85 million users. Singapore alone has more than a million LinkedIn users, including us at Coconuts.
"Asia Pacific is our fastest growing region in terms of member base outside of the US. We are investing to make sure we continue to provide a great experience as our business continues to grow in this region," said Olivier Legrand, Managing Director of LinkedIn in Asia Pacific.
