Eighteen dogs were abandoned last week, and a total of 30 were rescued by animal welfare societies Voices For Animals and Ocean Rescue Group by the end of the week. But no one knew who was behind the island-wide "dumping" of canines or why the person resorted to such actions — until now.
Apparently, all 30 pedigree dogs belonged to the owner of a pet grooming school, reported The Straits Times. He had kept them there for trainees to practise their grooming skills on, until two weeks ago, when the authorities informed him that the pooches had to go, as the neighbours were filing complaints.
