Two 25-year-olds — Jai Ganesh Tanapolan and Dinesh Kumar Ruvy — have been sentenced to five years' jail and 4 years' jail respectively, along with six strokes of the cane each for rioting and gang-related violence.
The two, along with four accomplices, had attacked two male victims last March as they were leaving the Checkmate Club at Rendezvous Hotel, Channel NewsAsia reports. The victims were kicked and punched, and Dinesh used a chopper to slash one of them on the forearm.
