One of the highlights of 'Everest,' Sookoon Ang's solo exhibition at Objectifs, is a mixed media installation that uses silk, tulle, plexiglass, metal and lights to convey the form of a mountain.
Ang uses the fragile nature of textile to represent the boldness and presentness of Mount Everest as a means of conveying the monumental in the mind and spirit and to surpass the limitations of the medium.
For this piece, Ang worked closely with British designer and Central Saint Martin’s graduate Sorcha O’Raghallaigh, whose creations have been worn by celebrities such as Kate Moss, Beyonce and Lady Gaga.
‘Everest’ is a multimedia show with a range of smaller works of various mediums, such as sculptures cast in wax and bronze, works on paper, as well as video art.
