It's been 400 years since the Bard of Avon and England's national poet departed this mortal coil, but his influence on modern culture, literature and the arts live on stronger than ever. Going beyond your mandatory literature readings, the spirit of Shakespeare lives on as the British high Commission Singapore and British Council take part in a major global programme celebrating his legacy. Running from January to December 2016, Shakespeare Lives in Singapore will see courses, workshops, exhibitions, film screenings and more that should garner greater appreciation for The Bard.
