A Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) officer never expected to be grievously hurt working in a government desk job, but hurt she was when an irate man went postal on her. The 56-year-old man has since been arrested and will be charged tomorrow for voluntarily causing hurt to a public servant.
Investigations revealed that he had gone to the MSF's Social Service Office at Toa Payoh on the morning of Nov 6 last year to seek financial aid. It was during the course of the interview with the officer than he turned aggressive and started hitting her. The assault stopped by other MSF officer, and he was promptly arrested.
