It was a series of unfortunate delays this morning for SMRT commuters living in the north side of town.
At 5:54am, SMRT alerted commuters on Twitter that train service from Yishun to Marina South Pier, and vice versa, was not available.
After less than 30 minutes, another alert, another disruption: service between Yishun and Bishan was also affected.
By 7am, SMRT advised town-bound passengers from Yishun and Woodlands to travel via Jurong East station (using the green line) or other lines.
The incident caused undue stress to some students, who are to take the A Level English Literature paper today, reports Channel NewsAsia.
Coincidentally, the service disruption on the North East Line almost a month ago was also on the day of a major student examination.
