Khairullah Rahim's swimming pool series at Fost
As one of four young Singaporean artists included in FOST Gallery’s FOURSIGHT series in Singapore’s jubilee year, Khairullah Rahim presents a series of new works that considers the specificity of local swimming complexes.
The pastel shades used create a calming sense in the works; a reminder of childhood days past. This tranqulity is juxtaposed against the artist’s presentation of objects in isolation from their usual context, suggesting a deeper symbolic meaning to the landscapes and architectural styles of these familiar settings.
See more of Khairullah Rahim’s works at 'If You Think I Winked, I Did' at FOST Gallery (1 Lock Road, #01-02 Gillman Barracks, S 108932). Till Aug 30. Tue-Sat 11am-7pm, Sun 11am-6pm.
