Even more mud-slinging among the various political parties have been making its rounds on the internet with the hotly anticipated General Election looming closer each day. But if you've got mud on you, the Singapore Democratic Party (SDP) has suggested that you use this super-strong detergent called Pappy Washing Powder, guaranteed to remove the toughest stains — including transparency, accountability and (gasp!) democracy.
Aw snap, son. Shots fired once again.
Though a pretty tongue-in-cheek video that finally adds a refreshingly entertaining vibrancy into the political battleground, the SDP did get into a bit of trouble with the Media Development Authority (MDA). According to the governing media body, their little Pappy Washing Powder clip is classified as a political film, which contravenes the contentious Films Act.
However, the MDA did note that parties may not be fully aware of what constitutes the offences and non-offences in the Films Act, and will not be taking action against the SDP, Channel NewsAsia reports. They've also reminded all parties and candidates to ensure that such things don't happen again, or they will enforce the law.
SDP's Secretary-Genral Dr. Chee Soon Juan obviously took issue with the MDA's prohibition of future videos, resulting in a long rant on their Facebook page.

This would mean the end of all further satirical/parodical/ridiculous videos for the General Election, which is a bummer. Back to reporting about press conferences, empty politician's promises and other Things of Boring Nature.
