Angry and upset about being barred from entering Singapore (and being offered no reason as to why) 54-year-old Alan James Nairn succumbed to his rage and punched an auxiliary police officer who had been escorting him to a room.
The Brit sales and marketing executive based in Jakarta had been coming to Singapore regularly over the years to renew his visa, but on that fateful day, he was refused entry into Singapore at Changi Airport. His frustration was made clear when he refused to head down to the "inadmissible persons" room even after several requests, The Straits Times reports.
34-year-old Certis Cisco officer Yogadevan Genasan and his two colleagues were assigned to physically escort him to the room. On the way to the room, Nairn complained of a pain in his legs and one of the officers went to fetch a wheelchair. When Yogadevan released his grip on Nairn's arm, the angry man then broke free and punched the officer in the neck before he was presumably got his ass handed back to him.
In court, Nairn was sentenced to six weeks after pleading guilty. Hey, at least he got what he wanted — entry into Singapore.
