It took a while, but the police have finally arrested two men for their suspected involvement in loansharking activities.
The police report was filed on Aug 4. Paint was splashed at the front door and loanshark graffiti scrawled on the wall of a residential unit on Teck Whye Lane.
Through extensive ground enquiries and viewing of images from Police Cameras, officers from Jurong Division arrested the two men at Serangoon Avenue 2 and Champions Way almost a week later on Aug 10. The duo is believed to be involved in other similar cases.
The two suspects, aged 23 and 24, will be charged in court tomorrow under the Moneylenders Act 2010 (Revised Edition). If found guilty, first-time offenders could face a fin of up to $50,000 up to 6 strokes of the cane.
