Expect fare rollback for buses and trains in December

Expect two major transport events in the month of Christmas. According to Transport Minister Lui Tuck Yew, the second phase of the Downtown Line will start operating in December. Coinciding with that, transport fares will be reduced by up to 1.9 percent. The exact figure still needs to be worked out by the Public Transport Council but Lui say the fare rollback is due to reduced fuel costs. Stage two of the Downtown Line will cover 16.6 kilometres from Bukit Panjang to Rochor, and consists of 12 stations, including three interchange stations. Photo: Wikipedia
