Man jailed and fined for slapping cop and impersonating CNB officer to confiscate cigarettes

HandcuffedThis angry young man really needs to get his temper in check — and he'll have a lot of time to reflect in his short stint in prison.  Last November, anarchic 27-year-old Muhammad Farmi Sudin had been unhappy that Special Constabulary Corporal Muhammad Nabeel Rahman had asked him and his brother to step outside the train, as they had been behaving suspiciously, TODAY reports. When requested for a spot check, Farmi simply hurled vulgarities at Nabeel before the three of them alighted at Pasir Panjang MRT Station, where he slapped the police officer twice across his left cheek.  As if that wasn't enough to convict him, Farmi had also impersonated a Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) officer in May last year, before the slapping incident.  He had been hanging out at an East Coast Park chalet with his two other friends and decided to buy cigarettes around 5am in the morning. None of the shops they went to were open, so the trio went back to the chalet — but not before running into a group of four men at the park. Farmi then introduced himself as a CNB officer and demanded for their identification cards and their cigarettes. One of Farmi's friends tried to confiscate a bottle of wine from the group as well.  While asking for identification, Farmi slapped one of the men and fled when they heard him calling the police.  In court yesterday, he was righteously sentenced to 10 weeks' jail and a fine of $4,000 for his multiple offences. Time to take a chill pill man.  Photo: Victor via Flickr
