Civil servants are not the only ones getting a bonus for SG50.
Singapore Airlines announced on Wednesday that it will be giving employees a special one-off payment of $500 in celebration of the nation’s 50th birthday.
About 18,500 staff are eligible for the bonus, which will only be given to Singapore-based SIA employees below the rank of senior vice-president, and payment will be made in the August payroll, Channel NewsAsia reports.
Other companies also expressing appreciation to their staff through SG50 bonuses include DBS Bank and transport operator SMRT. DBS is giving employees below the rank of vice-president $1,000 while SMRT will distribute $500 worth of shopping vouchers for all its employees.
Hopefully this will go a long way in preventing future disruptions of MRT lines.
