Singapore Vice: 36 arrested for suspected vice-related activities in HDB units

Seems like the suspicions of the residents of a HDB block at Woodlands Drive 70 have been confirmed. The police arrested 2 men and 34 women, aged between 21 and 48, on suspicion of vice-related activities after a two-day long raid around the island on Thursday. According to Channel NewsAsia, preliminary investigations revealed that the women had advertised their sexual services online and carried out vice-related activities in several residential around Singapore. The raid took place at locations including Woodlands, Sembawang, Sengkang, Jurong West, Yishun, Chinatown and River Valley, and ended on Wednesday. During the operation, items such as boxes of condoms, lubricants, mobile phones, cash, contraband cigarettes and work documents that were reportedly forged, were seized by the police. Further investigations on the premise owners will be carried out and the police will alert the Housing and Development Board about the units believed to have been used to facilitate the vice-related activities. Those found guilty of managing or assisting in managing a brothel, or live wholly or in part on the earnings of the prostitution of another person, could face a fine of up to $10,000, a jail term of up to 5 years, or both.
