It wasn't a fire drill, just a false alarm.
Access and egress from the basement level of Orchard MRT station was sealed off for an hour last night after someone activated the fire alarm, reports Channel NewsAsia.
Entrance gates to the basement levels of ION Orchard, Wheelock Place and Tangs via the MRT station were later re-opened at 8:30pm.
It's nice to know that security is always on alert.
Both train service and mall operations were not disrupted during the period.
