The skies above the Padang saw a bit of crisis on Saturday afternoon when one of the Red Lions skydivers got his parachute tangled up in midair during the National Day Parade rehearsals.
Luckily, he refused to shit his pants in the face of the hurtling ground and managed to cut off his main parachute before deploying his reserve parachute. He landed safely on the parade grounds, The Straits Times reports, along with his four fellow skydivers.
A spokesman speaking to paper remarked that the midair predicament of parachutes going into a twist was a common occurrence, and that no injuries were sustained in the incident.
Witnesses saw the skydiver "spiralling down like a corkscrew"— surely not something you'd want to experience in free fall.
The Red Lions display has been noted to be a crowd favourite every National Day Parade, and will go ahead as usual this year.
