Many Malaysians have taken to mimicking Spider-Man (without the spandex of course) in their daily commute to work in a bid to evade the perpetual Causeway crush. They know that their jobs come with great responsibility, that is taking the risky route to work. After all, their Spidey senses will tingle when there’s trouble.
According to Malaysian news agency Sin Chew Daily, these fearless Malaysian workers will take the short cut through a shrub beside the Causeway and make their way along the rail line from Lido Beach along the Straits of Johor until the point closest to the Causeway road surface, where they will then climb up to the Causeway from the water pipes and walk their way to the other end. All this while miraculously evading the Malaysian immigration checkpoint.
Apparently using this shortcut is common practice among commuters especially during the morning and evening rush hours, yet Malaysian Railway KTM Southern Region manager Omar Nazari Othman told Sin Chew Daily he was unaware of the practice as he had not received any report or complaint so far. This ain’t surprising since these Spider-Men are real stealthy.
