Some people have the coolest jobs.  It took a team of six model builders and one model designer, Stefan Bentivoglio, over 2,300 man hours — 95 days — to complete this amazing structure at Legoland Malaysia Resort. Recognize it? It's a replica of the Istana Bukit Serene, a famous tourist attraction in Johor Bahru that features Art Deco influences. The royal palace is the official residence for the Sultan of Johor, completed in 1939. Unlike its sprawling original, this palace model sits on an area of 155sqm. A total of 278,023 LEGO bricks and plates were used, with the wall structure aloe using up 83,864 Lego bricks.  The tower section, one of the definiting features of the real palace, stands at 1.542m (the real one is at 35m).  When you do visit, look for the black cat on a hot (plastic) roof. According to legend, the Sultan often complained  about a black cat on his roof at nights but the guards could never spot it. At least now, they know where it is.  KICK BACK, RELAX, WATCH COCONUTS TV  brightcove.createExperiences();
