The efforts to memorialise Lee Kuan Yew continue with the digitisation of tributes made to the nation's late founding prime minister, which will be archived on the irememberLeeKuanYew collection on National Library Board's Singapore Memory Project portal.
So far, more than 65,000 tributes have been sorted, scanned and indexed for the digital archive, Channel NewsAsia reports. During the week of national mourning, thousands came in droves to the various community tribute sites, public libraries as well as the Istana and Parliament House to pen final messages for Lee Kuan Yew.
Over 50 volunteers have taken on the task of sorting out the tributes at Geylang East public library, taking pictures of the items and uploading them to the collection. Though 65,000 have so far been settled, thousands more still await them and the entire process should be complete by the end of the year.
