Man without valid license reverses lorry unknowingly into elderly retiree for 4 metresAn irresponsible joyride ended in a fatal catastrophe when a freelance attendant ran over an elderly man with a lorry, despite not having a valid driving licence.  34-year-old Mohamed Shafarudin Mohamed Mokhtar drove his nephew's lorry without consent or the proper certification to operate it in October last year, and accidentally caused the death of 81-year-old retiree Ang Kum Lor, The Straits Times reports. Shafarudin was backing up the lorry at a service road along Ho Ching Road when he unknowingly struck the elderly man, and continued to reverse the vehicle, dragging the poor man under the wheels for around 4m.  Ang died in hospital from multiple injuries an hour after the accident.  Shafarudin has since been sentenced to a month in prison and received a five-year driving ban for causing the death of the elderly retiree.
