'Untitled (Wall Work, 2015)' by Mit Jai Inn
Chiang Mai-based artist Mit Jai Inn presents a series of his iconic works, as well as a few new paintings, in Patchworlds, the Thai artist’s solo exhibition at Yavuz Gallery. The one pictured above is a geometric patchwork piece that features his signature neon and pastel shades. From afar, the clean edges of each of the geometric units within the work give it a modern, minimalist feel. However, as you get closer to the layers of oil paint, a sculptural quality emerges, a characteristic that brings to mind a patchwork quilt.
See this work by Mit Jai Inn in Patchworlds at Yavuz Gallery (9 Lock Road, #02-23, Gillman Barracks, Singapore 108937) until July 19; Tue-Sat 11am-7pm, Sun 1pm-5pm.
