Narcotics, eh? A stand-off between a druggie and the cops at Bedok North last Saturday afternoon ended dramatically as officers smashed a car window to arrest him.
Police were alerted to the incident along Bedok North Street 3, where a drug abuser had apparently locked himself in a car in a carpark meant for heavy vehicles, Shin Min Daily News reports.
Reportedly, 10 officers from the Singapore Police Force and the Singapore Civil defence Force surrounded the car in a tense 10-minute stand-off, before they broke the back window and forced open the car door at the driver's side simultaneously.
The 26-year-old man behind the wheel was arrested for drug-related offences, and has been referred to the Central Narcotics Bureau for further investigation.
