Folks might not have been able to catch the Republic of Singapore Air Force's (RSAF) Black Knights during the State Funeral procession for Lee Kuan Yew due to poor weather, but the Republic's official aerobatics team will be making up for it by performing a special flypast this National Day Parade to honour the late founding prime minister. "The Black Knights will thunder over the Padang, lined up as five stars watching over this nation he founded; representing the ideals that Mr Lee spent his life pushing for – democracy, peace, progress, justice and equality. It will be a fitting tribute to Mr Lee, for all of us to look up and beyond and remember his wish to keep Singapore going," wrote Minister for Defence Ng Eng Hen in a Facebook post.

During the State Funeral procession for the late statesman on Mar 29, crowds had been anticipating to catch the F-16C jets performing an aerial salute as the cortege drove pass Esplanade Bridge, but the pilots were forced to perform the 'missing man flyby' above cloud cover due to torrential rains and low visibility.
This year's National Day Parade will take place at The Padang in celebration of the nation's 50th year of independence, but surely you'd know that by now.
