Following a resoundingly successful run last year after a two-year hiatus, the Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF) will be making its triumphant return for its 26th edition this year in November.
To kick off the road to the largest and longest-running film event in Singapore, the folks running the show have announced that film submissions are now open, where aspiring Asian filmmakers can get their feature and short films premiered in the festival — so long as it hasn't been broadcasted on TV or online.
Additionally, SGIFF are also accepting applications to two of their special programmes. Folks can start applying for their Southeast Asian Film Lab — a 6-day writing workshop for emerging Southeast Asia screenwriters and directors — as well as the Youth Jury & Critics Programme, which aims to nurture a new generation of critical writers of cinema from the region. Both programmes will culminate into awesome incentives for the attendees, namely a $5,000 prize for those taking part in the writing workshop and publication on the SGIFF website for budding film critics.
More details on SGIFF submissions and applications available on their website. The festival itself will take place from Nov 26 to Dec 6.
