Falling down a flight of stairs is already pretty painful, but falling down an escalator surely must be triple the hurt with all those sharp edges and stuff. Pray that you never go through this unfortunate experience, like this lady who rolled down the escalator at Lavender MRT station yesterday morning.
According to Lianhe Wanbao, the woman in her 30s had been running down the escalator to catch a west-bound train that was about to depart when she tripped, stumbled and rolled all the way down.
Witnesses mentioned that she fell forward when she was halfway down the steps, and could have been feeling faint prior to the accident. Plus, she was wearing high heels.
The lady landed on her back and could not move as she complained weakly of severe back pain. SMRT staff came to her to offer assistance and shut down the escalator.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force later conveyed her to Tan Tock Seng Hospital for treatment.
