The Singapore HeritageFest 2015 is going all out this year for SG50 to celebrate our culture and history, and the nation's oldest residential estate, Tiong Bahru, is getting commemorated with a bloc party of their own this week.
The nights of Apr 24 and 25 will see a multitude of creative activities in the historic residential estate in Night Out at Tiong Bahru, encompassing guided tours, workshops, live music performances and even spoken word performances.
Kicking things off tomorrow is the Kueh Masterclass, where folks can unlock the secrets to making perfect traditional snacks including kueh dadar and muah chee, taught by the gastronomic talents of Creative Culinaire. Later on, the folks of spoken word troupe Party Action People will be entertaining audiences with their wit at ArtBlue Studio. End your Friday night by treating yourself to the aural delicacies of singer-songwriter Tim De Cotta and the bluesy rock tunes of The Sets Band.

Saturday night is when folks can get a deeper appreciation for Tiong Bahru's aesthetic in the Heritage Walks, taking people through the Art Deco architecture, kopitams, cafés and specialty shops, as well as the numerous historic landmarks in the estate. Then it's on to another night of homegrown entertainment with performances by the Variasi Perfoming Arts troupe as well as live music by the likes of rock band DelphianRose and folk-pop outfit Seyra.
