The situation in Yemen is getting real bad — Saudi-led coalition forces are battling Iran-backed Shiite rebels in the streets — and Singapore's authorities are working together with foreign governments to secure safe evacuations of Singaporean families living there.
According to TODAY, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) had expressed their concern about the deteriorating situation in increasingly war-torn Yemen, and are keeping in close touch with the remaining Singaporeans in the country.
This morning itself saw civilian tolls rising from the airstrike campaign carried out by Saudi forces, which hit schools and injuring students. More than 540 have been reported dead in Yemen since the fighting started on March 19.
The MFA have strongly advised Singaporeans not to travel to Yemen.
