Over the last week during the week-long period of National Mourning for founding father Lee Kuan Yew, thousands of people from across the island visited the Istana where they left cards, gifts and flowers at condolence boards, paying respect and tribute to the nation's founding Prime Minister.
Out of the 18,000 condolence cards collected outside the Istana, 500 of them have been selected and added to the National Museum's memorial exhibition on Lee Kuan Yew, Channel NewsAsia reports.
The In Memoriam: Lee Kuan Yew 1923 - 2015 exhibition will run through Apr 26, with some parts of the memorial exhibition to be installed in the National Museum's new permanent galleries when they re-open later on in September.
