According to the World University Rankings published by London-based magazine Times Higher Education, Singapore's own Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is named the world's fastest rising young university.
The magazine shortlisted 15 universities under the age of 50 ranked in their top 200 World University Rankings and measured their rise since 2011, with NTU topping the list due to their rapid rise of 108 places in just four years.
The Straits Times reported Times Higher Education editor Phil Baty to say that institutions don't have to be old to attain world-class statuses.
Following behind NTU comes the Maastricht University in the Netherlands and Britain's University of Warwick.
