Teenage kicks: Mastermind behind Lee Kuan Yew death hoax is a kid who's not even 16 yetAs expected, the hoax that spread around about Lee Kuan Yew's death was not orchestrated by some grand, ambitious, nihilist — it was the work of some random kid.   According to the Singapore Police Force, they apprehended a male Singaporean student — aged under 16 years old — for 'assistance' in investigations into the death hoax that prompted foreign news outlets to erroneously report Lee Kuan Yew's passing.  The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) lodged a police report on Mar 18 about the cruel hoax — a screenshot image of a statement about the passing of Lee Kuan Yew on the PMO website. Channel NewsAsia reports that police established the identity of the suspect within 24 hours. Investigations revealed that suspect modified an earlier media statement made in 2010 (regarding the death of Lee Kuan Yew's wife) hosted on the PMO website, before taking a picture of it and spreading it on social media.  Several politicians and personalities came out to express their disgust over the hoax, calling for the person behind the antics to be severely dealt with.  If convicted for the offence of Access with Intent to Commit or Facilitate Commission of Offence, he could be fined up to $50,000 and/or imprisoned for up to 10 years.  And considering it's Lee Kuan Yew that's involved, it's safe to say that the kid is pretty much fucked. For life.  Photo: Facebook
