A motorist inadvertently captured a dramatic arrest along Serangoon Road on Monday afternoon, where officers from the Central Narcotics Bureau apprehended a 48-year-old Comfort Taxi driver, a suspected drug trafficker.  The motorist who captured the whole thing on his dashcam Alvin Zhang recounted the exhilarating drug bust on citizen journalism site STOMP, in which six to 10 officers had been trailing the cab on unmarked motorbikes and cars. The cab was then trapped by two cars from the front and back.  Two plainclothes officers then approached the Comfort taxi and smashed the left and right windows of the cab before handcuffing the driver and placing him into the back seat.  The CNB verified that they made the arrest and uncovered a stash of heroin, meth and drug money from within the taxi.  Earlier on, the officers were deployed in Simei and tailed the suspected drug trafficker to the vicinity of a carpark in a housing estate in Geylang Bahru. A 64-year-old suspected drug trafficker was seen boarding the taxi but alighted shortly — he was arrested with 239 grams of heroin found on him.  The taxi itself was intercepted along Serangoon Road, where officers uncovered a total of about 1,443 grams of heroin and a small amount of meth from within the taxi, as well as cash amounting $2,215.  Follow-up investigations lead CNB officers to raid a unit in the vicinity of Chua Chu Kang North 6, believed to be the hideout of the taxi driver's associate, a 52-year-old man. He was arrested within the unit along with 82 grams of meth, 7 grams of heroin and a digital weighing scale.  Investigations into the drug activities of the men are ongoing.
