Over the last few days Singaporeans have been spreading and commenting on a dashcam video showing a male passenger unreasonably berating his taxi driver.
The footage came from the driver's own vehicle and was uploaded to Facebook by his daughter, Clare.
Yesterday, Clare spoke publicly on the incident, which has — naturally — fired up netizens and led to the exposure of the "rude" and "self-entitled" passenger's identity.
Speaking to DJs Justin Ang and Vernon A on Class 95's Muttons in the Morning, she said, "Now that I'm calm, I understand that people have bad days. But no matter how bad your day is, don't take it out on someone else."
She also urged netizens not to spread his private details, including his home address, because "his family might get something from that".
In any case, the man has apparently cut off all channels of communication including his mobile phone line, which the Muttons said was disconnected when they attempted to call. His Facebook and LinkedIn pages are also now defunct.
Poking fun at SMRT Feedback's previous efforts, Clare jokingly asked netizens not to send him pizza or McDonald's food because "he needs to lose some weight".
Around the end of the interview, Clare took the opportunity to thank her father for his hard work. "I've finished school and begun working so I know now how hard it is to work to bring the bread home. We're really appreciative of what he does, as a family."
