That amount can get you an artwork by one of 50 artists participating in Affordable Art Fair's SG50 Feature Wall. The international art fair, which started in London in 1999 and held in several cosmopolitan cities, has been in Singapore since 2010. It became a bi-annual event in 2014.
Though targeted towards first-time collectors, expect to jostle with eagle-eyed art addicts who know a good bargain when they see one. Prices range from $100 to $10,000.
There is also a Live Artists’ Studios that gives visitors a glimpse of a visual artist's creative process, as well as a Childrens’ Art Studio. An "AAFter Glow" night on Friday is a chance to unwind in the company of paintings.
Affordable Art Fair is on 17-19 April at F1 Pit Building.
